APPLICATION OF THE U.S. COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT ACT (CZMA)
Assistance with the development and/or evaluation of federal consistency process components, including but not limited to: coastal impacts assessment, enforceable policy analysis, process facilitation and documentation, meeting facilitation, policy analysis, and technical research consistent with the provisions of 15 CFR §930.
Program Change preparation: policy analysis, document synthesis, process guidance, record keeping, and submission support consistent with the provisions of 15 CFR §930.
Assistance with policy development initiatives with a focus in creation of enforceable policies to be used during state federal consistency reviews.
MANAGEMENT PLANNING
Design and execution of social surveys, interviews, and focus groups (online, phone, in-person) to gather actionable data for integration into existing policy and management decision-making processes.
Drafting and updating management plans, including measurable objectives, strategic actions, and evaluation metrics to guide organizational efforts.
Integration of interdisciplinary insights and best practices to align management plans with ecological, social, and economic goals.
ECOSYSTEM RESILIENCE EVALUATION
Conduct predictive modeling, vulnerability assessments, and scenario planning to evaluate current and future ecosystem impacts on communities, species, and habitats.
Identify and prioritize management assets through stakeholder engagement and data-driven approaches to inform actionable resilience strategies.
Facilitate workshops to explore vulnerabilities, tradeoffs, and management solutions, ensuring collaborative and inclusive decision-making.
Marine Protected Area planning, governance, and efficacy research and assessments.
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
Development and facilitation of inclusive outreach and engagement processes to collaboratively identify key concerns, action items, and long-term solutions for effective coastal management.
Creation of targeted communication plans to support the implementation and adoption of management plans by diverse audiences.
Promotion of stakeholder partnerships and trust-building through transparent and participatory decision-making processes.
